Measuring Guide

When measuring for your blinds, accuracy is obviously extremely important, for this reason we recommend using a metal tape measure.
You need to decide firstly if you want to fit your blind inside or outside the window recess. Be aware that if you have an inward opening window, this may restrict the position of the blind.
Please take all measurements in centimetres and millimetres. Click here for convertor.
Here is a simple guide by product for ease of use:

Roller Blinds, Roman Blinds and Rollup Blinds

Inside Recess – measure the width and height of the recess exactly. For ready made blinds, only the width measurement is needed, but please check the length of the recess to ensure the blind is long enough.

Measure the recess at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest measurement taken. Also take into account tiles and fittings as they can affect the blind.
Please note, the cloth measurement on roller blinds will be 3cm narrower than the complete width quoted which includes the sidewinder and brackets.

Outside recess – when measuring please allow at least 8cm each side to overlap the window , this will give you the correct coverage
Be aware of fittings and obstructions that could affect the blind.
Measure the width and height exactly, again ensure the blind of your choice has enough drop (height) to cover the window.

Vertical Blinds

Inside recess – measure the width and height of the recess exactly
Measure at the top of the recess, the middle and the bottom, and use the smallest measurement taken.
Be aware of fittings and obstructions that could affect the blind. The vanes of the verticals are 89mm wide so your recess will need to be deeper than this.

Outside recess – when measuring please allow 8cm window recess overlap on the width and measure your drop exactly

Venetians

Inside recess – measure the width and height exactly
